Prada RTW Fall 2012 - From Austere And Architectural Black Elegance To Geometric Patterned Brocades

Prada is maybe one of the fashion house that can be credited with dictating trends every season and for this Autumn / Winter 2012 Miuccia Prada did not disappoint.
For her new fall collection she explained  “I didn’t want to talk about power,” and she added. “It’s a suggestion of importance and beauty.”
The show started with stiff black layers, studded with heavy shards of jewels, midi length A line skirts over cropped flared pants topped with cutaway tail coats looked like modern day armour.
Instead of dresses she opted for skirts layered over trousers and coats that flared stiffly from the shoulder and were balanced thick soled and stack heeled shoes.
The alternative to the jeweled black came with mosaic prints in mismatching colours from head to toe.
High collared black cashmere coats glittering with geometrically arranged stones, trouser suits of orange, blue, purple and black and white prints whose jackets were worn belted and long over the hips while the trousers were turned up.
The models carries with them large, boxy, glossy handbags, later they shrank to just over iPhone size and were just as good.
The models have long dip-dyed hair extensions that goes from blonde to purple, black to grey, brown to grey or blonde to black.
It was gothic, stern, disciplined  and was also unexpectedly decorative. As usual she gave us lots to think about.
