In April, Banana Republic announced a collaboration with Issa London, the design house that created the royal blue dress Kate Middleton donned to announce her engagement to Prince William back in 2010 (usually Issa dresses are retailed north of $500). Now, the first images of the Banana Republic X Issa London collection have been released aaand there is a remarkably similar dress to the now-iconic blue engagement dress worn by the Duchess retailed for £75.
The collection will consist of 40 fashionable piece available from between £25 and £100 per piece.
Launching on 8 August, the line will be carried in 700 stores globally, as well as online.
The line features kimono, wrap-tie and pleated dresses in patterns and block colours.
There are also plenty of wrap-tie blouses in a range of vibrant colours, chunky knits for winter, as well as range of jewellery and accessories.
Speaking about the collaboration, Simon Kneen of Banana Republic told WWD: 'We always love animal prints such as zebra and giraffe stripes.'Issa took that and modernised it. I love that the collection is our world and their world.'
PS (The actress Naomi Watts has been spotted wearing one of the dresses from the collection ahead of the store release. In paparazzi photographs she is seen wearing a wrap dress with red and white prints and Michelle Williams was spotted wearing a red and purple printed dress from the collection)
